OpenRouter added two new Tencent Hy-MT2 translation models — a compact 1.8B and a flagship 30B-A3B MoE — today, August 20, 2026.
Both models support 33 language pairs and five Chinese dialect and minority-language pairs. They ship with structured workflows for delimiter-based, contextual, glossary-based, and style-guided translation.
- tencent/hy-mt2-1.8b: $0.044/M prompt tokens, $0.177/M completion tokens. Compact, low-latency option for production translation pipelines.
- tencent/hy-mt2-30b-a3b: $0.074/M prompt tokens, $0.295/M completion tokens. 30B total parameters, 3B active (MoE), Tencent's flagship translation model.
Why a builder cares: If you're shipping multilingual apps, these are the first dedicated translation models on OpenRouter with per-workflow control (glossary enforcement, style guides, structured output). The 1.8B is cheap enough to run at scale; the 30B-A3B is accurate enough for legal and technical translation without a separate fine-tuning pipeline.
