Vercel Sandbox Goes Global

Vercel Sandbox is now available in four regions globally, up from one.

Sandbox, Vercel's ephemeral browser-based development environment, previously ran only in iad1 (Virginia). As of today, it also runs in sfo1 (San Francisco), cle1 (Cleveland), and cdg1 (Paris).

You can now pick a region when creating a sandbox, set a project-level default region, and configure failover regions so a sandbox spins up in the next closest location if the primary is at capacity.

Why a builder cares: Sandbox was a single-region product. If you were outside the US East Coast, every keystroke crossed an ocean. With four regions spanning the US and Europe, latency drops significantly for a much wider set of users — and failover means you actually stay online during regional load spikes.
