Vercel Sandbox Goes Global — Four Regions, GA
What shipped? Vercel Sandbox, the isolated browser-based development environment, graduated to general availability with multi-region support.
What changed? Sandbox now runs in four regions — iad1 (Virginia), sfo1 (San Francisco), cle1 (Columbus), and cdg1 (Paris). You can pick a region per sandbox, set a project-wide default, and configure failover regions. Previously Sandbox was a preview product limited to a single region.
Why does a builder care? Region choice means you can colocate sandboxes with your production deployments or your team, cutting cold-start latency for interactive dev environments. Failover keeps sandboxes up if a region goes down. This removes a major friction point for teams running ephemeral preview environments close to their users.
